Hallo! My name is Kelsey, and I am a transfer student going into my "junior" year at the University of Georgia, where I am studying music therapy with a concentration in voice. I studied vocal performance at Kennesaw State University, but realized very early on that music therapy is my calling. I made it my mission to attend UGA's music therapy program, and here I am two years later, happy as a clam!

I first heard of this program through  UGA's clinical coordinator, and after meeting with her, decided it was an opportunity I couldn't pass up. Not only is studying abroad an invaluable educational asset, it truly sets students apart as young professionals. Plus I've never been out of the country, and what better way to start than with studying what I love with like-minded individuals!

A local music therapist in Athens once told me that music therapy is not a career path for just anyone; either you are born to do it or you are not. While this may come off as terse, it really bands together those of us who know how special music therapy is. This is what I am most excited to experience while in Germany and Austria (and wherever else I venture off to!), particularly while attending the International Music Therapy Conference.  Not to mention studying the greatest career path in the whole history of forever (that's just my opinion)! I am so excited to meet everyone, and make lifelong friends and future colleagues. See you all very soon!
