Clean, mean, German Machine
Bells, waterways, castles, trains, bridges, mountains, and more. Heidelberg is truly the gem of Germany. I am at a loss for words to describe the gratitude I have for being given the opportunity to study, live, explore, and eat here. Especially the chocolate. Speaking of chocolate, I have accumulated quite a few wrappers since I have mastered the German grocery shopping experience. And let me tell you, the garbage recepticals here are no joke. There is a place for any type of garbage, from clear glass to green glass and beyond. In fact, every single place I have visited in Germany so far has been exceptionally clean, neat, and economical. With scented toilet bowl cleaners and pristine tile, even the bathrooms reflect this German mentality. Perhaps it's my German descent, but I find this way of thinking congenial and worthwhile. Upon my return to the United States, I will be doing my best to be mindful of my waste and implement the sanitary standards of Germany. And recycle my German chocolate wrappers of course.
