"Ends of the Earth"

Leaving Heidelberg was both the start and the end of another great chapter in my life. Some experiences you learn from because they were challenging. Some because they were frustrating. Some, because it was joyful. Some experiences you learn from because they were happy, some sad. Some lonely, some exciting, some fulfilling. Sometimes you learn from community. Heidelberg was all of the above and so much more for me. I only wish I could find some way to use something as simple as words to describe the meaning this time has had for me. I took risks everyday as I rode my bike along the bank of the Neckar river; hoping I could win against the flow of the current and find my way to the next great adventure. Around each bend was another moment where I could understand more about my world and about myself. I climbed mountains both literally and figuratively. On top of every beautiful hill I conquered, I found just a little bit more of the potential I have inside myself to achieve anything I feel that is my purpose in life. I will miss Heidelberg and all the beautiful things it has taught me about Germany, about music, and about myself.

"Oh, there's a river that winds on forever. I'm gonna see where it leads.
Oh, there's a mountain that no man has mounted. I'm gonna stand on the peak."
